As promised, I have spent this week planning and preparing for eLearning success this spring, now that we know it's going to be awhile before schools resume normal operations. As a reminder, Inspire Academy is closed March 30 - April 3 to train and prepare teachers for eLearning success. Teachers may reach out to parents during this time with online training videos to help parents feel prepared for success as well.
Please review the Extended eLearning document for clear details on what to expect for the remainder of the semester. Below are some key highlights from the document:
Effective April 6, 2020, Inspire Academy will operate the remainder of the spring semester as a combination of eLearning and school closure days. We will expect students and families to engage in eLearning three days per week. We determined that fewer than 5 eLearning days each week was the most manageable option for families who are juggling many things during this national emergency of the spreading infection of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. For specific days and dates, please see the attached document.
Our staff are diligently organizing and preparing a bundle of resources for every child, as well as preparing devices for offsite security. These bundles include paper, books, workbooks, and if needed, a device for accessing online resources. We are also working on securing hotspots for families who do not have an internet connection at home. For more information on resource pickup and delivery, please review the attached document.
We know that this is a difficult time for students, especially those who were preparing for their passage from elementary to middle school or their passage from middle school to high school. Our team is currently working to organize ways to still celebrate these big moments in ways that honor social distancing expectations and other regulations in place. We will keep you informed as plans progress.
I want to thank our parents and staff for your patience and support during this difficult time. It has truly been a joy to work with all of you, and the spirit of crew has been helped make each day manageable...together!
